Photography & Text
Opening night: Friday 29 August, 6.30pm for 7.00pm start
An exhibition about place and space, and wanting to be someone or somewhere else ... photography and text, fiction and non-fiction.
Featuring performances by Sugar Candy & members of Circus WOW.
Live music from ATE.
In Clap & We'll Tell You Everything, you'll see a number of Wollongong's femaile circus performers and musicians; read a children's story about Molly the hula-hoper, who thinks that someone has stolen her thunder and sets out to find it; and see some familiar and not so familiar places around the region, photographed with digital and Holga cameras.
There is also “not now, I'm talking”, an ongoing project about spaces and places that have significance to people - in their home, in their street and in their neighbourhood. A number of people have contributed text and photographs of the spaces and places that mean something to them, writing about and taking pictures of rooms in their home, gardens, streets and shops nearby. Contributions have come in from Wollongong and around the Illawarra, as well as from Sydney and Melbourne - the only link between the contributors is that they know the curator, David Kemmery.
Opening night is on Friday 29 August from 630pm, and will feature performances by Sugar Candy (back from Brisvegas for one weekend only!) and members of Wollongong's very own Circus WOW, plus live music from local ATE.
